Aarthy Sundar has trained in the classical dance form, bharathanatyam, for the past 15 years,
and has given numerous solo and group performances throughout the Dallas/Fort Worth
metroplex, other cities in the US like Boston and San Jose, as well as in Delhi, Bangalore, and
Chennai, India.
In the last year, she wasalso commissioned by the charity organization Empower and Excel to conceptualize and choreograph a specialized traditional bharathanatyam program on the themes of bringing
awareness for children with special needs, as well as victims of human trafficking. That
program, Art With a Heart, was hosted in 3 different cities, where Aarthy performed her works
alongside world-renowned speed painter, Vilas Nayak. She is also a part of a dance troupe,
Samsthana Dance, along with fellow bharathanatyam dancers, Vivek Ramanan and Surya Ravi.
Samsthana Dance has been invited to perform in different dance festivals and showcases in
numerous venues across the United States, including Yuva Bharati in San Jose, CA, Saptami in
Dallas, TX, and the Spring 2 Dance Festival in St. Louis, MI. Aarthy has a master’s degree in
communication disorders, and is currently a speech-language pathologist in Durham, North
Carolina.
